Helping Picky Eaters and Kids With Feeding Difficulties
At Allied Therapy, we support children who find eating hard. Often they are picky eaters, struggle with textures, or have medical or sensory differences. Our team offers feeding assessment for children across Nova Scotia, in-home, in-clinic, and online. We make mealtimes less stressful and more successful for the whole family.

Who We Help

Our pediatric feeding assessment and therapy supports:
Children who are very selective or avoid entire food groups
Babies who struggle with bottle or breast feeding
Toddlers who gag, cough, or spit out foods
Kids with trouble chewing or swallowing
Families who are frustrated, worried, or tired of mealtime battles

Our Approach to Feeding Therapy

1. Gentle Assessment
We start with a pediatric feeding assessment. We look at your child’s feeding history, growth, sensory preferences, oral motor skills, and eating environment.

2. Personalized Therapy Plan
We design a plan that fits your child’s needs. This may include:
-
Oral motor feeding therapy to build chewing, sipping, or swallowing skills
-
Sensory-based feeding strategies to help your child tolerate new foods
-
Parent coaching to support calm, pressure-free mealtimes

3. Collaborative Support
Our feeding therapy often includes input from speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and behaviour consultants because eating is about more than just food.

Common Goals and Outcomes
