Helping Children and Adults Build Independence
At Allied Therapy, our occupational therapy services support children and adults in learning the skills they need for everyday life. We work on independence in getting dressed, handwriting at school, and managing sensory overload. We’re here to help people feel more confident and capable.
We offer Occupational Therapy in Nova Scotia, both in-person and virtually, with care that’s tailored to each person’s unique needs.

Who We Serve
Children

Our pediatric Occupational Therapy supports children who:
Struggle with fine motor skills (e.g., holding a pencil, cutting, tying shoes)
Avoid messy play or dislike certain clothes or textures (sensory issues)
Get overwhelmed by noise, crowds, or movement (sensory processing)
Need help staying calm and focused in school or daycare
Have trouble with routines like brushing teeth or getting dressed
Adults
We work with adults who:
Are recovering from injury, illness, or stroke
Need help organizing their home or routines
Have difficulty with tasks like cooking, driving, or working
Live with chronic pain or fatigue and need daily adaptations
Want support with ADHD-related challenges (time management, focus)

Our Approach to Occupational Therapy

Friendly Assessment
We start with a gentle, playful (for kids) and practical (for adults) assessment. We learn your strengths and what’s tricky right now.

Personalized Therapy Plan
Your plan may include fine motor skills therapy, understanding sensory processing differences, or strategies for focus, self-regulation, and independence.

Real-Life Practice
We work on goals through fun activities (like games or crafts for kids) and real-world tasks for adults. These are worked on with kindness, flexibility, and encouragement.

Common Outcomes You Can Expect
Better focus and participation at school or work
Less sensory overwhelm and fewer meltdowns
Improved hand skills for writing, eating, and self-care
More independence and confidence at home and in the community
Easier transitions and daily routines
Let’s Work on Skills That Matter Most
Whether it’s tying shoes or typing emails, we’re here to help you or your child succeed.
